Superintendent Lawrence Coleman reported totals from the Nov. 4, 2025 school board election: 560 total votes (6 absentee, 210 early voting, 344 on election day). Candidate totals reported were Will Sudweeks 167, Jeff Mason 178, Iris Hammontree 234 and Marcus Mitchell 144. Matt Eastwood moved to canvass and declare the results; the motion passed unanimously with those present.
Notary Public Mindee Mata administered the Oath of Office to Jeff Mason and Iris Hammontree. After swearing-in, the board held a reorganization vote. Matt Eastwood's nominations and Sandra Smith's nomination for vice president led to a vote that carried 4'2: Sandra Smith, Iris Hammontree, Matt Eastwood and Jeff Mason voted to reorganize; Lorenzo Tavarez voted against. The newly elected officers took their seats.
