Board reviews secondary handbook updates including 7'12 drug-testing appendix

Leah Bobbitt presented proposed edits to the Secondary Handbook to align class rank and GPA language with School Board Policy EIC (Local) and to add a Drug Testing Program appendix for grades 7'12. The handbook updates were shown to trustees with page references; Bobbitt said the drug-testing language and disciplinary measures were provided as an appendix so trustees could review purpose and processes.

Trustee Matt Eastwood asked that a concise summary of the specific changes be provided to board members before final consideration so trustees would have time to review the handbook updates in detail. No final vote on the handbook updates was recorded at the Nov. 17 meeting; the request for a summary will be incorporated into follow-up materials.
