Bryan Parma, Vice President of Pre-Construction for Jackson Construction, presented the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) recommendation for the new elementary building under the 2025 bond program and projected the contract document for trustees and audience review. Parma said the "first 33 line items correspond to the Construction Specification Index" and identified a recommended construction cost of $19,603,856. He added that costs outside the guaranteed price ' asbestos abatement and commissioning ' total $235,000, bringing the project total to $19,838,856.
Parma emphasized the GMP covers construction "as drawn, as designed" and includes contingencies; he stated the district would not pay over the GMP unless there was a major scope change. Superintendent Lawrence Coleman and Parma both clarified the GMP does not include architect fees, furniture, fixtures or equipment. Matt Eastwood moved to accept the GMP; Iris Hammontree seconded the motion, which passed unanimously with those present.
