Charlie Caldwell (speaker 8) said a recent Prop 68 cycle is open and that Blue Lake could score well given its location and project type: "It's a California prop 68 Parks grant," Caldwell said, and recommended the commission and community prepare design and application materials.
Caldwell and other supporters described small existing funds and repeated commitments to fundraising events (including the "mass scramble" race) but emphasized that an approved design and clear property boundaries are needed before major grant applications or large-scale community fundraising could proceed.
