The Waco ISD Board of Trustees on May 9 approved the official canvas of the May 3, 2025 trustee election, accepting results prepared by McLennan County Elections showing Taylor Bledsoe with 840 votes and Peaches Henry with 446 in the District 4 race. Presenter Elizabeth Cox recommended the board complete and approve the canvas as provided by county election officials.
"The results reflect that Peaches Henry received 446 votes. Taylor Bledsoe received 840 votes," Presenter Elizabeth Cox said while summarizing the county-prepared precinct results and the canvass report. Cox told trustees the district had contracted with the McLennan County Elections Department to conduct the District 4 election and that the early voting ballot board completed its count on May 9, 2025.
The chair asked for a motion to approve the canvass pursuant to Section 66.004 of the Texas Election Code; the minutes reflect that a quorum completed and approved the canvas for the May 3, 2025 Waco ISD Board of Trustees election. The board noted that District 5 had been canceled earlier after the board certified an unopposed candidacy on Feb. 27. There were no registered public speakers at the special meeting, which lasted approximately two minutes from call to adjournment.
The meeting adjourned at 01:32. No roll-call vote tally or names of a mover and seconder were specified in the record provided to the board.
