Board President Mark Kellermeier moved the extension; Brady Bates and Mark Schwartz recorded seconds. The motion passed 6-0. The action followed a closed-session personnel discussion that the board said was held under the Texas Open Meetings Act, Government Code, Chapter 551, which authorizes executive deliberations on personnel and evaluations.
District minutes record that the board reconvened in open session at 9:30 p.m. and formalized the contract extension and compensation adjustment. The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
