Waelder Independent School District trustees unanimously approved renewing a Good Cause exception to allow guardians on campus following a recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Ron Lilie.
"Renewing the Good Cause exception to have Guardians on campus," Dr. Ron Lilie recommended, and Trustee Adolph Gonzales moved approval with Vice President Troy Sullivan seconding; the motion carried unanimously. The vote included trustees Dora Noyola, Troy Sullivan, Avery Williams, Adolph Gonzales, Donald Kincaid and Ruben Nava; Secretary JoAnn Ibarra was absent.
Board members did not record additional conditions or a sunset date for the exception during the meeting. The action was entered on the consent and action record for Nov. 17, 2025, and may be revisited at a future session if staff or trustees request further clarification.
