Eatontown resident raises trash-collection concern; council says it will review

During the public-comment period at the Jan. 1 reorganization meeting, resident Harold Mitchell of Weston Place raised a concern about his garbage can being thrown into the collection truck and asked how the borough would address the issue. The mayor and Councilmember Candace Faust responded to his question, and the mayor closed public comment.
Earlier in his address, Mayor Talerico had said the borough needs to hire additional DPW staff to maintain streets and stormwater infrastructure; Councilmember Faust later reiterated the council's awareness of trash collection issues and said the borough is researching options to improve service. The council did not take a formal vote on the matter during the meeting but indicated follow-up would occur through the Public Works office.
