Mayor Anthony Talerico said Eatontown secured several state, county and federal grants for 2025–26 that the borough intends to use for bikeways, park improvements and spillway repairs. He named a $203,700 NJDOT bikeways grant aimed at Industrial Way, a $100,000 transportation services award and $161,370 from Monmouth County's Municipal Open Space Grant Program to begin work on arboretum bridges.
On the Wampum spillway, Talerico said the borough had received $2 million in federal funds with T&M engineering preparing a proposed concept plan in March or April; the project will require DEP approval before bids can be issued. He connected park and trail investments to Safe Routes to School recognition and state playground grants, and said the borough will continue seeking federal funds to reduce local costs.
The mayor also discussed stormwater basin maintenance and shared-service paving partnerships and said additional DPW hiring is proposed to improve street and drainage maintenance. He reiterated that some grant funds will be used to address ADA access and park safety improvements already underway.
