Board raises enforcement concerns; Borough announces paving, gas main and water-meter programs

During the Sept. 24 meeting Board member John Frost raised continuing site-cleanup and bus-parking problems at a property approved last year (File ZB-2023-11, 82 Management LLC). Administrator Arthur Londensky said the owner has 24 hours to remove buses and that further enforcement falls to the Borough’s Code Enforcement rather than the Zoning Board. Attorney James Kinneally explained that once the Board acts on an application, enforcement and compliance issues become Code Enforcement concerns.
Administrator Londensky also provided a series of Borough announcements: the town is starting its paving program; PSEG will install new main gas lines on certain side streets; the Council will consider awarding a contract to proceed with the water program at its next meeting; and the water-meter replacement program requires meters be replaced by January to enable the new program to function. Londensky said utility bills are now being mailed and include a donation request to the Fire Department and information about a Department of Community Affairs grant that can fund lead-paint inspections and free home painting for eligible residents.
