North Caldwell swears in two council members; mayor urges long-term planning

Arthur Rees and Suzanne Corbo were sworn in to three-year terms on the North Caldwell Borough Council at the reorganization meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. Borough Clerk Tami Michelotti presented the certification of the Nov. 4, 2025 election results confirming both members' election; Mayor Emeritus Mel Levine and Assemblyman Al Barlas administered the oaths of office.
Mayor Joshua H. Raymond used his annual address to thank outgoing appointees and municipal staff and to call for responsible long-term planning and stronger community engagement. He singled out first responders, county leaders and Borough employees for recognition and said the borough should work collaboratively to serve current and future generations. Councilman Rees thanked his family and "stated his goal of doing what is best for the town," while Councilwoman Corbo expressed appreciation and pledged "to foster the sense of community and positivity to North Caldwell and avoiding divisiveness." The meeting opened at 6:32 p.m. and was held at Borough Hall and via teleconference.
