Troup ISD facilities update: consultants find no black mold; HVAC study and track repairs planned

At the Oct. 27 meeting, facilities staff reported on recent health and maintenance checks across district campuses. Preston Lindsey said ERI Consulting was hired after mold concerns raised at a SHAC meeting; "No black mold was found," and air-quality reports returned acceptable results. Lindsey told trustees engineers will evaluate HVAC systems to identify energy-saving improvements.
Lindsey also noted that CMAR proposals are due by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and that several companies had requested proposal packets. The district plans repair work on the track, which was last restriped nearly 15 years ago; proposals are being accepted for surface repairs and coating replacement. Paperwork for a DVA audit site visit has been submitted and the site visit is scheduled for Nov. 12. Lindsey said the insurance claim for a scoreboard lightning strike has been accepted and that a check for depreciated value will be issued.
