Board hears summer-school plan and certifies provision of instructional materials to retain state funding eligibility

Trustees reviewed summer-school plans focused on academic and attendance recovery and approved the 2026–2027 TEKS Certification to maintain eligibility for Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment funds.
Mrs. Lindsey Mayes, Director of Special Programs, outlined the 2025–2026 summer-school structure designed to support students performing below grade level and to provide attendance-recovery options for students who fell below the 90% attendance threshold. The program will offer targeted instruction to prepare students for the next school year and opportunities to regain credit for attendance shortfalls.
Separately, Mrs. Edie Lang, Director of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, explained the 2026–2027 Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials and how certification is tied to eligibility for the Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMA) funding. The board approved the TEKS Certification, allowing the district to submit required documentation to the Texas Education Agency and remain eligible for state materials funding.
