Tarkington ISD board approves HB 2 certification-waiver plan for teacher certification timeline

Bradberry said the district will apply for a phased waiver to meet House Bill 2 requirements while maintaining instructional continuity and supporting Grow Your Own program participants.
A motion to approve the resolution regarding the HB 2 Compliance Waiver Plan was made by Jason Ward, seconded by Kevin Johnson, and Passed (Yea: 5, Nay: 0, Absent: 2). The minutes record that HB 2 "requires all classroom teachers to hold full certification by the 2029-2030 school year."
