The Moultrie County Board on Feb. 11 approved the January 2026 Treasurer's reports and all presented claims after motions by Josh Roe; both motions passed 8–0. Roe said the committee has been reviewing elected-official salaries, noting those positions typically receive adjustments only every four years and that any change must be set 180 days before the general election.
Roe also told the board the committee is treating salaries as a position-based question rather than person-based, asking whether more experienced officeholders should receive higher pay. He referenced a 1972 attorney general opinion stating the board does not get paid for more than one meeting held in a single day as part of the discussion about compensation rules.
