Board confirms appointments to Board of Review and Regional Planning Commission

Phelps separately moved to appoint Mark Brewer to the Regional Planning Commission retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026; the motion was seconded by Josh Roe and passed by roll call vote, 8 yes, 0 no.
Planning and Zoning Director Kristi Hart explained the appointment was intended to add alternates because many current commission members are over age 70 or in ill health and the office needs to ensure a quorum when members step down. Hart said the appointment helps prevent scrambling for replacements when vacancies occur.
