Board awards Ag Washroom construction bid to East Texas Welding and Fencing

Superintendent Lawrence Coleman told trustees that Patton & Hightower Construction removed themselves from the Ag Washroom project and donated approximately $6,400 in labor and materials. Coleman said Waggoner AC & Refrigeration is donating the requested HVAC unit, so the district asked bidders to revise proposals with the HVAC component removed.
Updated bids were received from East Texas Welding and Fencing, CE Marlar & Associates, and Clader Homes. After discussion, Trustee Matt Eastwood (Vice President) made a motion to accept the bid from East Texas Welding and Fencing; Trustee Chris Pratt seconded the motion and it was approved by the members present. Coleman noted current bids do not include restrooms because the project budget is set at $70,000.
