Spring Valley council approves community donations, event permits and a library-board appointment

At its March 2 and March 16 meetings, the Spring Valley City Council approved several community donations and event permits and ratified a mayoral appointment to the Library Board. On March 2 the council approved a $360 donation for 30 Easter baskets and donated Community Center use to St. Bede Auction; it also approved the Lori's Walleye 5k Run permit for March 21, 2026. On March 16 the council approved donations to Project Success ($400), SVLL Girls Softball ($100) and the University of Illinois Extension/4-H ($100).
The March 2 meeting also included the Mayor's appointment of Kaylee Colmone to the Library Board, which the council approved. These routine community-support actions were approved by unanimous or near-unanimous votes as recorded in the minutes.
