The motion to order the election was made by Jim Hale and seconded by Thomas Connell and carried with all votes "For."
The board also recorded the election calendar included in the order: Jan. 14, 2026 (first day to file for place on ballot); Feb. 13, 2026 (last day to file); Feb. 17, 2026 (last day to file a declaration of write-in candidacy); April 2, 2026 (last day to register to vote); and an April 28, 2026 last day of early voting. The motion text and calendar were entered into the record as part of the board action.
