Council adopts engineering amendments to secure EPA funding for water projects

The Spring Valley City Council adopted two resolutions amending existing engineering agreements to facilitate EPA funding for a water-main replacement and for 2026 water-system improvements at Well #12. Mike Richetta of Chamlin told the council the amendments do not change the cost but are required by the EPA funding process; both motions passed unanimously on March 16 (#15348, #15349).
Council and staff noted the watermain design is complete and Chamlin crews are marking mains on First Street from Terry to Greenwood as part of locating utilities ahead of construction. Richetta also earlier suggested submitting a capital-improvement plan for a water-main connection from Peru to Spring Valley as part of broader funding opportunities.
