Trustee Armando Cuellar moved to nominate Nieto for president, the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Nieto thanked the board for the confidence, saying the group will “continue as a team of 8 working together in the best interest of students and staff.”
Trustees then nominated and approved Armando Cuellar as vice president after a motion and second. Cuellar said he would “continue to do what we’ve been doing to move in a positive direction.”
A motion to name Jaime Rodriguez secretary was also made and approved by voice vote; the board noted Rodriguez remains in that role. The reorganization followed the swearing-in of newly elected trustees earlier in the meeting and was taken during Item 6 of the agenda. The board adjourned shortly after the leadership votes.
