WOCCISD board approves financial audit, funding transfer and interlocal agreements

The WEST ORANGE-COVE CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district's financial audit and several finance-related actions at its Jan. 12 regular meeting.
During the finance portion of the agenda the board approved the financial audit. Linda Platt-Bryant moved the motion and Gina Yeaman seconded; the board's recorded vote was 7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstentions. Trustees also approved a transfer of funds to support board member training (motion by Gina Yeaman; second by Roderick Robertson) by the same 7-0 margin.
Trustees approved two interlocal agreements: one with the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) (motion by Tommy Wilson Sr.; second by Donny Teate Jr.) and one with TIPS, the procurement cooperative (motion by Linda Platt-Bryant; second by Tommy Wilson Sr.). Both motions carried unanimously.
Board members did not request additional public testimony during the finance votes. The meeting record shows each of the listed motions carried by a 7-0 vote. No further fiscal actions were taken in open session before the board recessed to closed session later in the evening.
