The Wellington Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a slate of routine and recurring items at its April 13 meeting in the superintendent’s office. Motions recorded in the minutes include approval of the March 9, 2026 minutes (motion by Alison Strickland, seconded by Lance Kane; motion carried 6-0) and approval of the 2026–2027 school year calendar (motion by Gene Pena, seconded by Lance Kane; motion carried 6-0).
Trustees also approved several real-estate transactions and administrative appointments. The board approved the sale of Block 1, Lots 25–28 in Samnorwood, Collingsworth County; approved purchase of Lots 16–18 in Block 123 of the Original Town of Wellington; and approved purchase of Block 9 E/103, Lots 31–36 in the city of Wellington. Foster, Lambert & Foard, LLC was approved as auditors for the 2025–2026 school year. All of these motions are recorded in the minutes as carrying without recorded opposition.
