Principal Deidre Kane told trustees the elementary enrollment stands at 229 and outlined several upcoming academic and extracurricular items: mandatory STAAR training on March 10; data meetings March 10–12; STAAR ALT 2 opening March 23; spring pictures March 31; and the end of the fifth six weeks on April 2, which is also "Eat with Your Child Day." She also said Pre-K and Head Start will host Donuts with Dads on March 12 and that kindergarten will hold a Transportation Parade on April 2 at 9:30 a.m.
Kane reported WHS and JH interim assessments taken in late February and early March, and noted that local scholarships open March 9 and close April 3. She also reported that WHS will host the District 2-2A One Act Play contest on March 11 and listed several interim and STAAR schedule items for March and April.
