Elise Gafani reported she had presented the commission's draft artificial intelligence disclosure policy to the city council on Nov. 25 as a soft recommendation. The proposed policy asks that applicants disclose use of AI in submitted arts or graphics; each committee or council body would review submissions and decide whether to accept AI‑assisted materials on a case‑by‑case basis.
Gafani said she does not expect council to act immediately and suggested the commission revisit the item in a few months if no decision is recorded. "The AI policy is that if anyone were applying or using arts or graphics and submitting them to the city... we suggest that they would have a policy that would ask them to disclose if they use AI," she said. Commissioners had no substantive objections and agreed to wait for council action.
