Whitesboro ISD board approves 2025 financial audit finding district in compliance

The Whitesboro Independent School District Board of Trustees on Jan. 16, 2026 approved the district's annual financial audit for the year ending Aug. 31, 2025 after a presentation by Steve Davis.
Davis told the board that "Whitesboro ISD was found to be in compliance with audit requirements applicable to each major program and internal control over compliance in accordance with auditing standards." The audit report also stated that the school district was in good financial standing. The presentation included a summary of detailed items in the audit report.
Trustee Michael Parish moved to approve the 2025 district financial audit "as presented," and Trustee Kevin Hartless seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously; trustees present who voted in favor were Board President Jeff Patterson, Kevin Hartless, Eddie Wood and Michael Parish. Absent from the Jan. 16 special meeting were Shannon Blake, Austin Miles and Aaron Park. The meeting was convened at 12:00 p.m. and adjourned after the vote.
The audit covers the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2025. No delegations or public comments were recorded during this special meeting.
