Burbank council approves ordinances, labor pact and capital projects in unanimous votes

The Burbank City Council on Feb. 24 unanimously approved a package of ordinances, labor and capital items during a brief meeting at council chambers.
Council adopted Ordinance No. 5-2-26 to add Rapid Entry Key Boxes to Chapter 6 of the Fire Code and Ordinance No. 4-2-26 to revise Chapter 9 (offenses and miscellaneous provisions for weeds, grass, garbage and debris). The council also approved the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Battalion Chiefs of the Burbank Fire Department.
Several capital and procurement items passed on roll call votes, each recorded as 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. The council authorized an exterior maintenance and interior remodeling project for the Public Works building at 5700 W. 75th Pl. ("Not to exceed $2,000,000") and approved the purchase of a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe canine vehicle from the Hometown Police Dept. ("Not to exceed $30,000"). The meeting also approved the minutes of Feb. 10 and the current bills list.
