Battalion Chief Talia Flores reported to the commission that Blue Lake Fire recorded 39 calls in November: 21 medical aids, 10 fire-related calls (vegetation, residential, vehicle, debris), three commercial alarms, two lift assists and one medical incident requiring extrication.
"So in November, we had a total of 39 calls," Flores said, walking commissioners through the monthly breakdown and describing available community services.
Flores said the department will run hybrid CPR classes in December (online instruction plus an in-person skills session) and that basic CPR courses cost $40 and CPR with first aid costs $70, with proceeds supporting volunteers directly. She also said the fire district can provide up to three free smoke alarms per qualifying household through its sound-the-alarm program and will perform home visits to install and test alarms when requested.
Commissioners asked about response capacity and staffing; Flores said the department has roughly 8–9 active members and three to four probationary firefighters at the moment and that the department will share schedules and registration information via social media and email.
