Waller ISD to gather community input and aim to end 2027 school year before Memorial Day

Chief Academic Officer Meagan White presented the process for developing the 2026–27 Waller ISD school calendar and asked trustees for input on priorities and constraints. White said the district will gather community input through a survey and that a subcommittee of the District Site-Based Decision Making Committee will review and revise calendar options.
White told the Board the district will "bring a recommendation to the Board of Trustees during the regular meeting on Feb. 12, 2026." Trustees asked staff to consider families with child-care needs and to prioritize finishing the school year before Memorial Day where feasible. The district plans to return to the Board at the Feb. 12, 2026 regular meeting with recommended calendar options after the subcommittee and community survey input.
