Council committee moves forward four-year contract with public-works union

The agreement would run through the end of 2019 and includes language updates on boot allowances and drug-and-alcohol policy clarifications; wage adjustments are specified as 2.5% for each of the first three years and parity with non-represented, non-managerial employees in year four.
"Agreed upon wages represent adjustments in amount of 2.5 percent for the first 3 years and an amount equal to the non-represented non-managerial employees in the year 4," staff said while recommending approval. Committee voted to forward the agreement to the consent agenda for council action.
