Board welcomes new leaders and returns coach Martinez to Waco High

Superintendent Dr. Spicer announced a set of personnel changes and welcomes. Suzanne Hamilton was promoted to assistant superintendent of student support services; Spicer recounted her background as a Waco native, a former social worker and campus leader and said she will support safety, health services and student management across the district. Hamilton addressed the board and thanked her family for support.
The superintendent also introduced Nkechi (Nkechi) Washington as the district27s executive director of special education and summarized her 15 years of special-education experience, including work with the Harris County Department of Education and leadership in the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators. Finally, Dr. Spicer welcomed Ezra Martinez as the new Waco High head football coach; Martinez, who played collegiately and has coaching experience in the region, said he is excited to be back and already working with students.
