Waco ISD honors nearly 50 students advancing to state competitions; A Storybook Christmas recognized for $130,000 donation

The board also honored A Storybook Christmas as the district's December community partner, noting the organization's work since 1991 and that, "Most recently, a storybook Christmas donated a $130,000 to the school district, ensuring that countless children have access to quality books," a staff member said. The board presented the Texas Association of Schools Stand Up for Public Education Award to the organization and thanked community partners for supporting literacy.
Trustees applauded the students' accomplishments and commended the community partner for longstanding support. The recognitions underscored the district's emphasis on extracurricular achievement and community partnerships that support classroom learning.
