Waco ISD welcomes deputy superintendent Dr. Melissa King Knowles

The Waco Independent School District board formally introduced Dr. Melissa King Knowles as deputy superintendent and invited her to address trustees and the public.
Dr. King Knowles said she was honored to join the district leadership team and emphasized a student-centered approach. "I am committed to working collaboratively with each of you to uphold values of equity, excellence, and accountability in all that we do," she said (speaker 16). Board members thanked Dr. King Knowles for joining Waco ISD and noted her experience as a district-level leader and principal.
The superintendent and trustees said they will meet the new deputy superintendent on campuses and partner on priorities including academic performance, leadership development and community engagement.
