Waco ISD honors AP and College Board scholars, recognizes Pilot Travel Centers and lists upcoming events

Staff highlighted that 33 students were named AP Scholars and listed dozens of College Board national-recognition recipients across Waco High and University High. Pilot Travel Centers (Flying J) was recognized as the district's October community partner for supporting the Special Olympics program; student athletes and coaches accepted the award.
"Congratulations to all of our AP scholars," a staff presenter said, and the district organized group photos during the meeting.
Announcements: District communications announced the Lion Pride band will perform at area contests, staff-and-family trick-or-treat events at the administration building, a community trunk-or-treat with Waco PD, early voting dates for the Nov. 5 general election, and a special board meeting scheduled for Nov. 7 focused on attendance boundaries.
