At its Aug. 18 meeting the Veribest ISD Board approved a series of facility and equipment purchases intended to support operations for the coming school year. Approved items include a quote from Indeco for student desks (including a $5,000 cushion for chairs), playground repairs, a new water tank, tennis‑court repair and resurfacing, reflooring the old gym with synthetic materials from Z Floor Co., and bricking the administration building with new light poles.
The Indeco desks motion was moved by Dalena Freeman and seconded by Tony Rojo and passed 7–0. The board reviewed but took no action on a quote from Tri‑Star for a dump trailer. The board approved playground repairs, the water tank purchase, tennis court work, the gym reflooring and the bricking/light‑pole project with unanimous votes.
Trustees asked administrators to coordinate contracting and confirm schedules; Superintendent Amanda Traylor’s facilities update later in the meeting noted substantial summer maintenance and near‑completion of many punch list items. No public comments were made on the procurement items.
