The board approved the annual professional-development calendar for the 2025–26 year, which schedules mandatory state trainings and local professional learning opportunities for staff. A trustee moved to approve the calendar and the motion carried for recognition.
Administration also presented an interlocal agreement to continue district participation in a pooled property and liability insurance program and a resolution to update the district's authorized investment broker/bank (moving to South State Bank). Trustees moved to approve a memorandum of understanding to participate in the juvenile-justice education program (JJEP) as an additional placement option for students requiring juvenile-detention educational settings; administrators noted the MOU fee rolls forward if unused.
Board members asked clarifying questions about JJEP use, the conditions under which the district would place students, and whether the program would affect local special-education or alternative-placement planning. Administration replied that the MOU is an added safety-net option and that more operational details would be shared if JJEP placements became necessary.
