Local club urges board to accept donated Ten Commandments displays

"We're here to present the 10 commandments, and I'll hand you the bill that was passed, and it happened to be S B 10," Frank Gay told the board during public comment. Gay said the county club had already arranged posting in other county schools and asked Van ISD trustees to accept donated items that meet statutory requirements. The board heard the public comment as part of its opening public comment period; no policy vote occurred during the meeting on that request.
