Sunnyvale I.S.D. recognizes staff and dozens of students; campuses report to board
Summary
The board recognized staff RISE award winners and Teachers of the Year and acknowledged multiple student achievements from VASE, UIL Academics, athletics, and SMS One Act Play. Campus reports were delivered and a construction update given.
During opening activities the board recognized staff and students for academic, artistic and athletic achievements. RISE award winners included Stephanie Estes (SES), Debbie Barineau (SIS), Lawana Lambert (SMS) and Jaymie Batten (SHS). Teachers of the Year named were Kelly Dodson (SES), Britni Matthews (SIS), Mary Anne Clark (SMS) and Adam Jones (SHS). The transcript lists dozens of students honored in state VASE, SMS UIL Academics, one-act play, and multiple athletic rosters.
Campus reports were presented by Angel Perez (SMS) and Carlos Soliz (SHS). Superintendent Matt Kimball provided a brief construction update and reported Town building permits for March: 2 permits (total 2). The recognitions were ceremonial and no board action was required.
