West Oso ISD recognizes students, teachers and community partner El Vago Burger & BBQ

At its March 23 meeting the board honored a local business as a community partner and recognized student award winners (Oso Awesome Bear awards, regional science fair, athletics) and Teacher Incentive Allotment designations.
The West Oso ISD Board of Trustees used part of its March 23 meeting to recognize community partners, students and staff. Kimberly Moore and Liz Gutierrez presented a community partner recognition for El Vago Burger & BBQ. The board also recognized Oso Awesome Bear award recipients for March 2026 and regional science fair winners from John F. Kennedy Elementary, West Oso Elementary and West Oso Junior High.
Athletic recognitions included West Oso High School wrestler Allistine Ybarra for placing fifth at the regional meet and earning alternate state distinction; freshman pitcher Keridessa Cantu reached 100 career strikeouts; and junior Gina Hinojosa placed second at the regional powerlifting meet and qualified for the UIL state competition. Teacher Incentive Allotment designations for West Oso ISD were also announced. The items were presented as recognitions with no board action recorded.
