Principals report enrollment, assessments and fall events at Wellington ISD

During the Principals’ Report Mrs. Kane said WES has 230 students enrolled and that campus staff reviewed beginning-of-year (BOY) assessment data to help track student progress. She reported the Opportunity Center is operating after school Monday–Wednesday and noted recent and upcoming activities including a secure lockdown drill on Oct. 3, National Custodian’s Day on Oct. 2 and picture retakes set for Oct. 23.
District principals and the superintendent completed collaboration walkthroughs on Sept. 30 and campus staff participated in a Zone UIL District meeting with Quanah, Memphis and Wheeler to plan the UIL Academic Meet on Dec. 8. The minutes also note timeline items for GT nominations opening and first‑semester ELA benchmark testing for 3rd–5th graders in early November.
