Council approves summer community events, tag days and donations

The Spring Valley City Council approved a series of community-event petitions during meetings on May 4 and May 18. On May 4 the council approved St. Jude Run/Tag Day for Aug. 1, 2026; IV Business Trades Dad's Day Collection for June 20; and the 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Kirby Park for June 19 (motions #15379, #15380, #15381).
At the May 18 meeting the council approved a tag day for the Ladd American Legion (May 23) and voted to donate $100 to IVCIL and sponsor IVAC's Annual Steve Brust Golf Outing for $100 (motions #15390, #15391, #15392). All petitions and donations were approved by roll call votes as recorded in the minutes.
