A foundation representative told the council the "Dancing with the Stars" gala raised $40,000 and that the foundation board elected to allocate the funds to a new oven for the hospital kitchen. The representative said the oven was arriving the next day and the purchase will support patient food service and community catering opportunities that were curtailed during staffing and equipment shortages.
Powell and the foundation said small capital purchases like the oven matter to daily operations and patient comfort, and listed upcoming fundraising events including a golf tournament, a pickleball tournament and a health fair on Nov. 12 where free screenings will be offered. The hospital asked for continued volunteer and civic support for these events.
