The Winters ISD Board of Trustees voted March 9 to begin incidental alterations and renovations to HeadStart classrooms and bathrooms and authorized entering a cooperative Buyfair contract purchase for up to $170,000 with Red Oak Construction. Trustees recorded that $90,000 of the funding will come from HeadStart Fund 205.
The motion to begin the renovations carried after a formal vote. Trustee Doug Wheat moved to authorize the Buyfair cooperative purchase and Trustee Will Duggan seconded; the board roll call listed Brandi Jacob, Angela Perkins, Conda Richards, Will Duggan, Doug Wheat and David Pate voting yes while Trustee Danny Martinez was absent at the time of the vote. The board also previously voted to begin the incidental alterations and renovations under a separate motion moved by Conda Richards and seconded by Doug Wheat.
District staff presented the HeadStart bathroom project update during the information items portion of the meeting; Mark Reese of Buyfair provided the project update and scope. The minutes record the board approved both the action to begin work and the authorization to use the Buyfair cooperative contract to secure services from Red Oak Construction.
