At its March 24 meeting, the Wink‑Loving ISD Board of Trustees took three substantive actions affecting district operations and finances.
First, the board amended the 2025–26 calendar to designate April 27, May 1 and May 8 as student/teacher holidays, using excess waiver minutes; administrators reported that the change reduced available extra minutes but left +845 minutes after the change. Trustee Jerome Dewberry moved the calendar amendment and Trustee Raymond Dodd seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Second, the board adopted a financial resolution to redeem Series 2025 maturities at the 8/15/2026 call date and to partially defease another maturity. Board materials show estimated I&S dollars applied of $18,798,928 and an estimated combined net savings of $7,059,608. Trustee Carrie Purcell moved to adopt the resolution; Trustee Melissa Halterman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Third, the board approved the attorney‑recommended design/build construction delivery method to advance a second school housing project and authorized the superintendent to negotiate and execute procurement documents for the design/build contractor. Trustee Melissa Halterman moved approval; Trustee Raymond Dodd seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
