The Wink‑Loving ISD Board of Trustees approved several personnel and instruction-related items at the March 24 meeting, adopting T‑TESS as the district appraisal system and approving the T‑TESS appraisal calendar for 2026–27.
Trustee Melissa Halterman moved to approve the T‑TESS recommendation and Trustee Carrie Purcell seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The board discussed Texas Education Code and Texas Administrative Code provisions that provide the statutory framework for teacher and administrator appraisal processes.
The board also approved the 2026–27 Professional Development Guidelines and Criteria after administrators considered staff needs, technology requirements and student assessment data; Trustee Jerome Dewberry moved approval and Trustee Raymond Dodd seconded. In addition, trustees certified the district’s provision of instructional materials and TEKS certification required by state rules to enable ordering and disbursement of instructional materials.
