Wink-Loving ISD trustees voted to donate the east 15 feet of Lot 25, Western Heights Block 1 to the City of Wink in exchange for city-owned land north and east of the city water well near the former Cajun Place, with the intent of expanding agricultural facilities and siting a new swine barn.
Administration reported a preliminary agreement with Mayor Hawkins to pursue a land swap that would give the district more options for agricultural building placement; the district would construct a fence around the city property similar to one previously built around a city well. "I move that the Board Approve Donating Land to the City of Wink (East 15ft of Lot 25 Western Heights Block 1) in Exchange for Land to the North and East at City Water Well Location Beside Old Cajun Place Land as presented," Trustee Raymond Dodd said; Trustee Melissa Halterman seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes note the swap is pending board and city council approval; no purchase price or parcel deed details were recorded in the public minutes.
