The approved targets in the board materials call for increasing the district’s CCMR rate from 96% to 100% by Aug. 2028, raising the percentage of all 3rd-grade students scoring "meets grade level or above" on the Reading STAAR from 45% to 55%, and raising 3rd-grade Math STAAR meets from 25% to 50% in the same timeframe. The agenda language states the plans and goals should be influenceable by the superintendent to align evaluations with board outcome goals. "I move that the Board Approve the Early Childhood and CCMR Plans and Goals as presented," Trustee Carrie Purcell said in making the motion; Trustee Clayton Hawkins seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes indicate the board will review plan progress at least annually at a public meeting, consistent with the plan requirements noted in the agenda materials.
