Don Cavalli, participating by Zoom from Florida, told the commission the Wheaton Municipal Band "has the distinct honor of having been invited to perform at the annual meeting of the ABA." He laid out the trip schedule: bus departure from Wheaton at 11 a.m., rehearsal and sound check at 1:30 p.m., a 45-minute free performance at 7:30 or 8 p.m., and an approximate return to Wheaton at 11 p.m. RSVPs for bus seats or independent travel are due by mid-January 2026.
Rehearsals with Dr. Moss and guest conductors will be held at Bloomingdale Junior High/Middle School in January and February 2026, with a dress rehearsal on March 1. A $15 lunch stipend will be provided to band members, commissioners and spouses who travel on the bus. Commissioners discussed logistics, and the board agreed Don Cavalli will send a thank-you letter to donors who enabled participation.
