Council approves 2026 professional-service contracts for attorney, planner, auditor and others

• Resolution 2026‑19 awarded tax-appeal attorney services to Martin Allen for a one-year term not to exceed $15,450. • Resolution 2026‑20 reappointed Erik Peterson as borough attorney for a one-year term not to exceed $49,000. • Resolution 2026‑21 awarded Heyer and Gruel municipal-planner services not to exceed $41,200 for 2026. • Resolution 2026‑22 awarded Hawkins Delafield & Wood as bond counsel not to exceed $10,300. • Resolution 2026‑23 awarded auditing services to Wielkotz & Company for 2025 ($27,000) and 2026 ($27,750); minutes note the prior borough auditor resigned due to a conflict of interest.
All motions for these resolutions were adopted by roll call; most were unanimous. The resolutions include standard language referencing the New Jersey Local Unit "Pay to Play" law (N.J.S.A. 19:44A‑20.4 et seq.) and certification of funds by the CFO where required.
