Committee members discussed Arbor Day activities scheduled for April 24–25 and a coordinated native Bur Oak planting to restore oak habitat near Kimball Hill or South Salk Parks. Planner and Management Analyst Robert Savage said the City, Park District and Public Works have had internal conversations about collaboration; committee members asked staff to confirm the scope with Park District and Public Works.
"She would update, as nothing is planned yet," Member Joan Thomas said about Willow Bend plans, and Member Karen Gill suggested pairing plantings with a park cleanup tied to the Earth Day theme. The committee directed staff to coordinate with Nick Troy to confirm the scale of planting and any park or creek clean-up that could accompany the tree work.
